BSB rounds 2024

Rory Skinner - 13 March 2024

Rory Skinner will compete in the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, racing a BMW M 1000 RR for TAS Racing under the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad banner.

The 22-year-old returns to the series after a season competing in the Moto2 world championship and will bring with him crew chief Stuart Shenton, who brings a wealth of experience to the Northern Irish squad.

Speaking of his 2024 campaign, Rory said: “I’m really looking forward to getting started with the Cheshire Mouldings by TAS Racing BMW team. The crew that Philip Neill has put together for me is very exciting, and to be able to bring my crew chief Stuart Shenton from Grand Prix is a major plus. Seeing the bikes for the first time at the launch just made it feel that bit more real, and I’m sure everyone will agree, they look absolutely superb. It’s going to be an exciting season coming back to BSB and being able to race in front of the British fans is always very special. I can’t wait to get underway.”

Philip Neill, Team Principal at TAS Racing, added: “It’s been the usual winter rollercoaster getting everything in place, and with 2024 being our 25th year of competition under the TAS Racing banner, we wanted to make sure we did everything possible to get back where we belong – at the sharp end of all competition.

“First of all let me welcome our new title partners for 2024, Cheshire Mouldings. Long standing supporters of two wheel motorsport, we did have a lower level association with them last year, but we look forward to flying their brand livery this season in both British Superbike and the National Superstock series.

“In the superbike class we are delighted to have been able to bring Rory back to BSB where I think everyone would agree, he was about to become a big star in BSB before he left for Moto2. We’re delighted he has chosen TAS Racing, where he will campaign the Cheshire Mouldings BMW M 1000 RR. And it’s fair to say he has already made a big impression on us with his commitment and desire. I’m sure it will be an exciting and enjoyable year ahead for us all.”

John Carney, Managing Director of Cheshire Mouldings, said: “We are delighted to increase our sponsorship with TAS Racing, becoming title sponsor in BSB for the 2024 season. Everyone here is excited to have Rory on-board in the Superbike class, as we have been supporting him for the past few years. He shares our values to ‘Be the Best’ in his chosen profession, so we are confident he can secure some podiums this season.”

Rory will be the sole superbike rider in the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad squad, with team-mate Davey Todd participating in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship and at the major international road races.

Lewis Rollo - 10 March 2024

One rider and team yet to officially confirm they are racing in the BSB 2024 championship is Lewis Rollo, who finished in sixth place last year in the National Superstock Championship. The IN Competition SENCAT team have accessed the new ‘Pathway’ regulations designed to help with the transition from Superstock to Superbike, so we expect him to be on the Superbike grid this year.

Lewis has had more than his fair share of injury’s but he came back after a massive high side at Donington Park in 2022 riding the Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles Honda. Landing on his head he fractured a T5 superior endplate and broke his nose leaving him unable to train through the winter. Back in the Superstock class for 2023 he finished sixth in the championship, with one podium at Donington Park.

Lewis will be riding the 1099cc engined Aprilia RSV4, if the team make it to the grid it will take the manufactures competing for the 2024 championship to six.

The 2024 BSB riders confirmed so far - updated 7 March 2024.

The list will be updated when we get the news of which riders have moved to which team.

Leon Haslam has confirmed he will be riding a BMW M 1000RR in the new for 2024 ROKiT Haslam Racing team.

Leon Haslam said: “Last year was last minute, with a lot of new elements to get to grips with, so to be so close to the championship and top BMW in the class was amazing. With the learnings we gained, new product this year and additional support from ROKiT and BMW we’re even more motivated going into 2024. It’s really exciting to be working direct with Jonathan Kendrick and ROKiT under the newly-formed ROKiT Haslam Racing and great to see the effort that BMW is putting in to racing worldwide. We’re super excited to get the season underway and look forward to challenging for the title in 2024.”

Glenn Irwin - 6 March 2023

Last year’s British Super Bike runner up Glenn Irwin, today announced he will continue with the PBM Racing Team on a Ducati Panigale V4R. With the death of Paul Bird last year there was some uncertainty over the future of the PBM team.

In a statement, team owners Jordan and Frank Bird said they had been on an ‘emotional roller-coaster’ following their dad’s untimely death.

“We are delighted to confirm that the PBM team will be back on the grid this season”.

"It has obviously been a real emotional rollercoaster for us, and we are so proud of what the whole team achieved last year, ending the season on a high with a one-two in the standings”.

"The PBM team remain fully committed to the championship and after a lot of uncertainty over the last few months we are delighted that Glenn returns as we begin the next chapter for PBM”.

"We hope that together we can add a championship title to that this season”.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank our partners and fans for their continued support and we are now looking forward to the future of PBM and keeping Dad’s memory alive.”

The livery and sponsors for the team have yet to be announced.
