“Gary Bailey for PICMAN based in Lincolnshire, operating nationally and internationally”

“With 25 years’ experience as a full-time professional motorsport photographer, Gary has a prestigious client list including Yamaha UK and Europe, Ducati UK, Suzuki UK and Silverstone. He is based in Lincolnshire but spends most of the year servicing international track day organisers and corporate clients.”
“Embracing digital photography in 1995 / 1996 as a way to provide a more efficient service at motorsport events, Gary was one of the first photographers in Europe to take a professional digital camera trackside.

Over the years he has developed a trackday and event photography service that has been adopted by numerous companies in the motorsport industry.
Regularly published in the motorsport media, Gary is happy to take on press commissions, real time photographic services for trackday organisers & automotive shows with hundreds of active vehicles, as well as high quality individual shoots.
Whether you require a set of shots to show action and dynamism, or professionally lit static shots, Gary is a versatile photographer that will work with you to realize all of your imaging needs.

Gary has PL insurance to a value of £10 million and works with a full complement of Nikon equipment including full-frame 35mp cameras, prime lenses up to 400 f2.8 and location lighting.
Gary also teaches trackside motorsport photography in the exclusive “media only” areas at numerous circuits around Europe, and has been featured in N-photo magazine coaching their student in the Motorsport Masterclass.
Tailored to each photographer’s specific needs, but typically as 2 day course, the first day is classroom based. The early part of the day is spent discussing the specifics of setting up the camera for more consistent results in this very technical genre of photography.

You’ll be shown how to avoid the common pitfalls that occur as well as the little-known technical aspects that affect the picture taking process.
The latter part of the day is spent explaining and demonstrating a tried and tested, and very specific workflow that enables photographers to bag a whole range of shots that keeps picture editors happy.
The second day is spent trackside putting the theory into practice under close supervision. Whether it is your application of the theory, or fine tuning your long lens or panning techniques, guidance will be close to hand to help you improve.
Please feel free to get in touch for an informal chat to let me know what you have in mind.”
